Elizabeth I Gown

This was my final university project that I made in 2022. Designed by Charlotte Baxter, this garment takes inspiration from Elizabeth 1, particularly her portraits from the 16th century. This piece consists of a corset, farthingale, frilled petticoat, over petticoat, partlet, gown, ruff and headdress. The gown is made from a red velvet, with gold silk organza sleeves over-sleeves, gold brocade under-sleeves and a gold brocade petticoat. The bodice jewellery and necklace is all handmade from resin which was then painted in gold and decorated with gems and pearls.
